Fossil and Fossil Fuels
Let's say that a fish dies. It will sink to the bottom of the ocean and the soft parts of the animal will rot of only leaving its skeleton. Soon the skeleton will be buried by the sediment. As the skeleton continues to be buried by sediment it begins to thicken and soon turns into stone. Now that the skeleton is buried deep and dissolved by water. This leaves a hole keeping the shape of the skeleton. Minerals enter the mold and fill the hole. The minerals inside the mold than form a cast of it. The cast now has the same shape as the skeleton. Millions of years later the rock around the skeleton rises to the surface. The rock is then blown away by wind or rain. Now the fossil is exposed to the surface.
Fossil fuels are non-renewable energy sources that were formed more than 300 million years ago during the Carboniferous period. Pant and animal matter I'd what makes up fossil fuels. When animals and plants died their bodies decomposed and were buried under layers and layers of earth. Millions of years later fossil fuels were created. A use of fossil fuels are to fuel cars and airplanes. They are also used to make medicane, cosmetics, and other products.
